  1. Just wondering how you picked out the locations to add outlets, looks like you added 12-110v and 1-12v outlets to the standard amount that the factory provides. Also, are all the 110v going to be powered by the inverter or is there a split some on shore power and others on inverter?

    1. We picked out the locations by spending a lot of time at the dealer walking through coaches and poking our heads into cabinets. They have told me that all 110V are on the inverter (and are, of course, powered by shore power as well).

  2. When you spec'd this out, my understanding is that the factory passes along special order costs to the dealer, who then decides on how much to charge you? Does that sound right? Or does the factory actually give you a retail cost for parts and labor for special orders? Also, for a change in paint color, to another scheme, would you care to characterize the final cost, say, as a range or an approximation? Just something in the ballpark for the actual cost for the paint change would be helpful. even if it's something inexact. Not trying tp pin it down, since we may end up negotiating with the same dealer.

    1. The factory gives the dealer a MSRP and a wholesale (dealer) price for each special. What they charge you is between you and them. Some dealers say that they won't add anything to what they pay. Others reduce it by a percentage similar to the amount you get off of the basic order MSRP.

As far as I know, there is no charge for customizing your paint scheme -- as long as you use colors that they have (and use for other coaches) AND you don't change the pattern. See my post about choosing exterior colors.

  3. Well, that's good news. I have read all the other posts. I don't know that we will have any other special orders other than paint, and in fact, may ask a dealer to take a unit already in his order queue but specify delivery at the factory. Much depends on the furniture and the price. I'm just not that familiar with the coach to start messing with the interior, so we'll probably just take one the way it comes, aside from picking from the standard option list. We will have some minor aftermarket stuff to install, which the factory may or may not do for us. Thanks.
